Le Mans II by Rizine

This Moto Guzzi Le Mans II comes from La Coruña in Spain. It was originally tuned in the early eighties by Andrés Pérez Rubio, a Spanish motorcycling champion, and was eventually brought to José Calviño Dominguez of Rizine with its engine broken but with a lot of usable parts. José restored the engine using new gears of distribution, 40mm Dell’Orto carburettors, oversized valves, close-ratio gearbox and Lafranconi exhausts (which were eventually changed). When in 2012 Angel Rodriguez Curiel went to Josè, he was looking for a Guzzi based cafe racer and he had one more requirement only: the color had to be matt black. After eight months of work the bike is what we can see today. Check out more about the Rizine bikes on Facebook.

Super Pantah by RAD

There is only one builder in the world able to make a Ducati Pantah attractive… This is a tribute made in 2003 by Radical Ducati to the 1980 Montjuich 24 hours winner, the Ducati 900 SS NCR ridden by Mallol and Tejedo. The donor bike was a Ducati Pantah 500 with a modified frame powered by a 1992 SS 900 engine.

Sputafuoco by Venier

One of the peculiarities of Stefano Venier’s bikes is that they are not built on commission, but made to match the taste of the builder and eventually sold in a small number of releases. This allows Stefano to curate his own style and develop his own ideas. In this case, this Cagiva 350 is the very first bike he ever designed and he now decided to build it to crystallize a new elegant and unusual café racer style. The tank and the side panels are from a Ducati Pantah TL. The gas cap is custom made. The front light is from a vintage Moto Guzzi Stornello while fenders, seat and brackets are hand made as usual. The sub frame has also been shortened to complete the model. Check out what he's saying about this bike at inazuma cafe in the rest of this post.

"This is the first bike I designed, even before the Diabola - Stefano says - After more than one year in the business I was still very interested in this project. I’m starting to get tired of the usual cafe 'racer with oversized tires, often Firestone or alike, thin saddles and saddle holes. I do think that in the world of cafe racer and special bikes we need to see something different, and I believe that this Cagiva is formally controversial and not respect the classic standards. So I trusted in this project and I built this hybrid. It is a mixture between a 1984 Cagiva Ala Azzurra 350cc and a Ducati Pantah TL. From the latter I took the tank and the side panels. The headlight is from a Moto Guzzi Stornello and we have made proper brackets to position it as I wanted, handmade fenders, the saddle is strictly hand-made in leather and the usual Italian flag has been sewed in it, glossy black painting , Dunlop tires, custom exhausts and vintage clip on handlebars taken from a Benelli 354. This bike is one of the first cocktails I do, I merged four bikes to make the Sputafuoco - in English: 'Spitfire' -. Surely at first glance it might not have the same effect of the other bikes that I designed, but certainly, IMHO, it’s a bike that must be looked at with particular attention".

The hidden art of the vintage oil cans

A couple of days ago, I saw this article on Petrolicious. “One benefit of being vintage car enthusiasts - bikes, in our case! -is that we get to appreciate many other vintage-car-related things, like well-designed motor oil cans, for instance. The packaging design, typography, and in some cases, hand-lettering shine through on these faded labels and weathered tins”. I couldn’t help but inazumize the pictures and reblog it.

Wrenchmonkees' Guzzi 850

This Guzzi 850 T3 is another example of the art of Nicholas and Per who set a real new wave for the cafe racer style. This bike is the Wrenchmokees' 52nd release: it was customized with a new bodywork: aluminum tank, fenders and a new bespoke seat and tail. The battery is now in a box under the swingarm. To improve the performance, while the rebuilt engine remained standard, new Bitubo rearshocks and Borrani 18" wheels were added.
Tarozzi rearsets, clip-on’s, the new 6 1/2” headlight and the usual Motogadget Speedo complete the pattern. The result is, needless to say, outstanding.
