Egli Vincent Shadow e-bay find

Despite the ugly pictures (which I somehow tried to recover) this is a rare and precious bike, and of an unusual color. It's a 1970 Egli Vincent Shadow recently found on e-bay Australia by our friend Rex of Garage Project Motorcycles. Between 1967 and 1972 only 100 bike of these were produced by Fritz Egli with his frame and the legendary 1000 cc Vincent twin engine. The Grimeca four cam drum brake is a show itself. The auction closed at circa 40,000 AU$ (28,700 €).

Nonostante le brutte fotografie (che ho cercato in qualche modo di recuperare), si tratta di una moto rara e preziosa, e di colore inusuale. E' una Egli Vincent Shadow del 1970, che il nostro amico Rex di Garage Project Motorcycles ha trovato su e-bay Australia. Dal 1967 al 1972 ne furono costruite solo un centinanio, con il telaio disegnato da Fritz Egli ed il leggendario motore Vincent a V di 1000 cc. Il tamburo Grimeca a quattro camme è da solo uno spettacolo. L'asta si è chiusa a circa 28.700 euro.

Irving Vincent

In 1936, a talented Australian designer, Phil Irving, went to England to work for the Vincent Motorcycle Company. He introduced several innovations regarding frame arrangements, new suspension systems and improvements to engine components. Many of these developments later became standard on racing bikes. In 1999, in Australia, KHE's Ken Horner and his brother Barry began work on an updated, improved and more powerful version of the Vincent classic.
