R45 by Soiatti Moto Classiche

So elegant and balanced to seem an original vintage bike just come out from the factory's workshops. Yet this R45 has a R100 tank, R69S handlebar and indicators, R75/5 side panels... Then there is a Japan contamination, with the customized seat coming from a CB 500 four and the keyblock in the same location of the vintage Honda. Then the fine customization work that involved, among other things, the front fender, the beautiful painting and handmade pinstriping, the headlight support, the new rear light, the minimalist gauge... Everything by Soiatti Moto Classiche in Novara (Piedmont, Italy). Should I continue, or are you ready to enjoy it by yourself?

The Distinguished Gentleman’s ride is here again! Just a reminder: the DGR is an event for Cafe Racer, Bobber, Flat Tracker, Retro, Classic, Quirky Motorcycles and their owners. It is a worldwide event taking place on the same day in each respective time zone. It is a day where no matter what your work/social/life status may be everyone is equally distinguished. It therefore means we approve the right to wear monocles, attach brief cases to your bike, side saddle your bike as your chauffeur steers for you, wear a bow tie, shave your beard into a mustache, smoke an old school pipe while riding, attach a cup holder for your high tea, drink JW Blue (while stopped and in consideration) use your satellite phone to call in your private chopper and above most ride your bike with one escort on the handle bars and one sitting on your lap. The link that brings the world together on this day are these two words 'Distinguished' and 'Suit'. To take part you need to be in a suit. Be as creative as you want or as bland as you want. The most important thing is to make yourself laugh, make others laugh and you have a blast along the way. This event was created to bring people together in the café racer, classic and bobber scene but has also a charitable component. Check out the new worldwide website, there is the opportunity to win some awesome prizes! No one has to ever pay to ride DGR, that’s not our style, but if people are passionate about riding and their health – the team would love to become the largest motorcycle event fundraiser in the world! The funds are going towards medical research towards prostate cancer. At the moment, the charity is Australian based as the website is Australian based, but the research done benefits men across the globe and, hopefully in the near future, also the fund raised will be available for international initiatives. For any detail, check the DGR worldwide website.

CB750 Babe Blue

This beautiful 1973 CB750 special is the last release by Brady Young and Seaweed & Gravel (Leucadia, between L.A. and San Diego, in California). It's worth reading the full story in the rest of this post.

David Patri of Seaweed and Gravel met Brady Young a little over a year ago. “I had a beater CB750 in the back of my truck at the time – he says  I told him this would be my babe. He kinda smiled while we made plans for other builds that were much more in the forefront. This build got pushed back by each client that came along. I didn't really mind because I knew she was going to be amazing. As it happens, some of the other builds were the testing grounds to work out the mistakes so this bike would be right the first time around. Well I am happy to say Brady nailed it on the head. The build takes me back to my childhood, no doubt. Growing up my dad had a '70 El Camino the same color and I drove a '70 Nova the same color. The number was my number growing up and it has significance in my adult life as well. This bike will be for sale but we have not come up with a cost yet. I hope I can ride her for a little while at least.”

Macco Motors #3: Dusty Pearl

"When Juan Manuel, the owner, bought his new Triumph Bonneville SE - Jose and Tito say - he still didn´t hear about bikes customizations. And then he discovered it. He was impressed with the Macco Nº1 an then contacted us to completely change the look of his bike. He wanted us to build an industrial-looking bike and retro at the same time. The first was to change the original rims by spokes rims, and thereafter, all that Maccomotors would provide. So we set to work with the design and we have changed almost everything. One of the most noteworthy contributions in Dusty Pearl are the handmade side panels that left the rear brake pump outside. We love it." And we like it too mates!

We love it". E piace anche a noi!

For once, Inazuma Cafe will not feature a cafe racer, nor will it show a scrambler or a bobber... But this is the kind of works we like. Lorenzo Rapparini, who has already been guest of the Inazuma Garage, this time built his "saltafossi" (literally "jump the holes") using a Honda Africa Twin as donor bike and, starting from scratch, he entirely reinvented its bodywork, chassis and character.
