Spacca Ossa by FMW

1990 XT600 Teneree by Fugar Metal Worker

"Fuck the purists and the nostalgic lovers of the old and obsolete big enduro bikes... Huge elephants with tanks that need a capital to be filled, equipped with ugly plastic fairings and shock absorbers that make you seasick... I cut, welded and forged an old Yamaha Teneree, making it an unconventional bike which cannot and doesn’t want to be categorized in any cliché... It's not a scrambler: too low. It's not a dirt-track: the handlebar is too bent. It’s not a street-tracker, because of the knobbly wheels. It’s a male machine. Evil mechanics and a doubtful exercise in style. Are you brave enough to ride it? 55cv and 105 kg, all-aluminum, kick start. Its name is Spacca Ossa (Bone Breaker). The electrical system is ridiculous. The engine is pissed off. The work on the details? Titanic. If you don’t like... I still have all the fairings: pale blue and loose bowels yellow".  Lorenzo

55cv e 105 kg, tutta in alluminio, accensione a pedale. Si chiama Spacca Ossa. L’impianto elettrico è ridicolo. Il motore è molto pompato. Il lavoro sui particolari... Titanico. Se non vi piace... Ho ancora tutte le carene azzurrine e giallo cagarella". Lorenzo

Dick Mann's 750 replica

This CB750 special is an almost faithful replica of the Dick Mann’s legendary Honda 750 which won the Daytona 200 in 1970. In order to build it, the owner performed an in depth search of photographs and documentation of the original bike but he couldn’t resist the temptation to install the invisible street legal lights and mirrors to ride his bike on the road.

Great Escape

Dino Romano brought to the Motodays three modern Bonnies "Great Escape" (one with the stick drive!) inspired by the legendary TR6 Trophy used by Steve McQueen in the iconic film. Although these bikes are no longer news,  they were a real attraction of the show. The Bonnie No C890008, still incomplete, was particularly interesting due to the custom rounded cooling fins on the cylinders and the kickstart (which actually activates the electric start).

Paton S1

Founded in 1958 by Giuseppe Pattoni (1926-1999) and Lino Tonti, two former employees of the Mondial Racing Team which had just shut down, Paton began his activity tuning some Mondial 125, modifying their engines into a DOHC. With one of these bikes, the young Mike Hailwood began his incredible career, and in that year, he was 7th in the Tourist Trophy and winner on the Silverstone Race track. After Tonti resigned in 1960, Pattoni affirmed his brand in the world of motorcycle racing thanks to his custom made machines, competing on equal terms with the extremely performing Jap and sometimes beating them. His son Roberto, ten years ago, restarted the Pattoni production on a smaller scale, and today he propose this special ultra-light bike (158 kg) for a few: a Kawasaki twin-cylinder engine of 650 cc in a vaguely English tube frame, with spoke rims on hubs that are a sculpture and the historical colors. Exclusive of Special Café at the Motodays.

The New York Steak never dies

In the late 60's, Kawasaki was planning to build a new 750 cc four-cylinder four-stroke powerful motorcycle. They were beaten to the marketplace by the Honda CB750. So they decided to postpone their project until a bigger and more powerful engine would have been ready: the Kawasaki Z900 was developed in strict secrecy under the project name "New York Steak". Its production started in 1972: at the time it was the most powerful stock bike ever built. After 42 years these bikes are still awesome, and these custom builds are the evidence.
