"Gulp IWC" by Sumisura

This time "Frank A". and the "Engineer" tailored (sumisura) an R80 for Paolo, who wanted a reliable bike for travelling and, since he wanted something very personal and he's always looking for something special, the bike took the name from his beloved IWC Porsche Design watch and the word "Gulp" that Paolo loves in particular. The original R80 has been completely rebuilt and transformed in just 34 days!

Questa volta "Frank A". e l'"Inge" hanno ritagliato "su misura" una R80 per Paolo, che voleva una moto affidabile per poterci viaggiare e, dal momento che voleva qualcosa di molto personale ed è sempre alla ricerca di cose speciali, la moto ha preso il nome da il suo amato orologio IWC Porsche Design e la parola "Gulp", che Paolo ama in particolare. L'R80 originale è stata completamente ricostruita e trasformata in soli 34 giorni!

Some details: powdercoated wheels and frame, R100R gas tank, R51 headlight, Rizoma handlebar and rear mirror. Avon tyres. Braided brake lines. Brooks bag.

Lisboa Art & Moto 2014

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the second edition of Art & Moto will be held in Lisbon on April 26th. This year, in addition to the vintage, custom bikes, scramblers and cafe racers, the theme will also incorporate the world of surfing, video, music, clothing, culture and lifestyle illustrating a more complete and integrated picture of contemporary artistic lives and practices. 

Sulla scia del successo dello scorso anno, la seconda edizione di Lisbona Arte e Moto si terrà il prossimo 26 aprile. Quest'anno, oltre alle moto d'epoca, custom, scrambler e cafe racer, il tema dell'evento comprenderà il mondo del surf, video, musica, cultura e lifestyle per consentire una visione integrata delle espressioni artistiche e delle attività.

The main event will take place on Saturday April 26th and will be open to the public between 3pm and 12am. Admission is free. The venue of Art & Moto will be in the XL building, located in one of the most charismatic areas of the city: LxFactory. 

L'evento clue avrà luogo sabato 26 aprile dalle 15.00 a mezzanotte. L'ingresso è libero.  La location di Art & Moto sarà l'XL building, in una delle aree più carismatiche della città: la fabbrica Lx.

"My father bought it new in 1974 - Tells me Liam O'Connor, owner of this beauty - My parents rode from the church to the wedding reception on it back then. We've got tons of photos from back then. Dad moved on to a Suzuki Bandit, then a Harley Electra glide. In 2010 he gave it to me in run down stock condition with 3 conditions: 1. NEVER sell it 2. DON'T modify the frame in any way 3. NO Japanese carbs. So I set about making it mine. 4 years 2 kids later, I met Alain Bernard at the vintage bike meet Scorpio 3, put on by Ronin Vintage in St. Petersburg Florida and asked him to help. He and Craig Skiver helped make my dream a reality. I still can't believe it's in my garage".

"Mio padre comprò questa moto nuova nel 1974 - Mi racconta Liam O'Connor, proprietario di questa bellezza - I miei genitori ci andarono dalla chiesa al ricevimento di nozze. Abbiamo tonnellate di foto. Da allora papà ha avuto una Suzuki Bandit e poi una Harley Electra Glide. Nel 2010 mi ha lasciato la moto, tutta originale ma in pessimo stato, e ha posto 3 condizioni: 1 Non venderla MAI 2 NON modificare il telaio in alcun modo 3 niente carburatori giapponesi. Così è diventata mia. 4 anni 2 bambini dopo ho chiesto aiuto ad Alain Bernard. Lui e Craig Skiver hanno contribuito a rendere il mio sogno una realtà. Non riesco ancora a credere che sia nel mio garage".
